Chers Ami(e)s,Hôtes, Client(e)s et Partenaires,En cette année 2015, le Canton du Valais fête le 200ème anniversaire de son entrée dans la Confédération helvétique. A l’occasion de ce bicentenaire placé sous le signe de la convivialité, du partage, de l’ouverture et de la découverte, une suite d’évènements mémorables sera offerte à la population, aux hôtes et au-delà des frontières.

Champéry, à travers d’expériences insolites et novatrices présentant un Valais grandiose et dans ce qu’il a d’unique, n’échappera pas aux festivités en cette année anniversaire. Les projets « 13 Etoiles au Sommet » avec l’illumination des Dents du Midi, ou une surprise « cubique » durant l’été ne sont qu’une liste non exhaustive des événements auxquels notre station prend part.

Si Champéry est l’un des plus anciens sites touristiques de Suisse, le domaine des Portes du Soleil, auquel il est rattaché, vient de souffler ses 50 bougies. Car c’est bien en 1964 que quelques pionniers ont lancé l’idée folle de relier les pistes de ski de Champéry - les Crosets avec la France voisine, adhérant ainsi à l’idée d’un tourisme ouvert sur l’extérieur et abolissant les barrières frontalières.

C’est aussi dans cet esprit visionnaire que des événements d’envergure sont organisés chaque année en terre champérolaine : qu’il s’agisse du Tour du Pays de Vaud, du Maxi-Rires Festival, de la Fête Nationale, des Rencontres Musicales ou des Championnats d’Europe de curling (groupe C), les grands rendez-vous sont légion en 2015 également, tant sur le plan culturel et traditionnel que sportif.

Nous vous souhaitons la cordiale bienvenue dans cette édition été 2015 du Champéry Info et espérons que ce mélange harmonieux, combiné avec l’accueil et la sympathie des Champérolains, vous conféreront des moments de pure magie. Champéry, les Portes du Soleil, le Valais… à jamais gravés dans votre cœur !

Dear friends, guests, clients and partners,2015 is a landmark year for the Canton of Valais; the 200th anniversary of the Valais joining the Swiss Confederation! To celebrate this bicentennial, we have planned a series of memorable events that will extend the festivities beyond our borders and promote the spirit of conviviality, cooperation, openness and discovery.

Champéry has already taken part in some unusual and innovative experiences that showcase the Valais in all of its unique glory. The breathtaking nighttime illumination of the Dents du Midi for the ‘13 Stars on the Summit’ project and an intriguing ‘cubic’ surprise to take place this summer are only two highlights in a host of events planned for the coming months.

Speaking of anniversaries, the Portes du Soleil has just celebrated its 50th birthday. Champéry was already one of the oldest tourist destinations in Switzerland when, in 1964, a few visionary locals came up with the crazy idea of linking the Champéry and Les Crosets ski slopes with their French neighbours over the mountains, thus launching the idea of ‘tourism without borders’.

It is in the spirit of this vision that all major events are planned and held throughout the year in Champéry. This year will include a unique mix of sports, art, culture and tradition with the Tour du Pays de Vaud bike race, the Maxi-Rires Comedy Festival, the Swiss National Day, the Rencontres Musicales classical festival or the Group C European Curling Championships.

We wish you the warmest of welcomes with this, the Summer 2015 edition of Champéry Info. We hope that our long-standing tradition of local hospitality and friendliness will make this summer a magical experience to remember. Champéry, Portes du Soleil, Valais ... forever engraved on your heart!

Liebe Freunde, Gäste, Kunden und Partner,2015 ist ein herausragendes Jahr für das Wallis, denn in diesem Jahr gibt es die 200-jährige Zugehörigkeit des Kantons zur Schweizer Eidgenossenschaft zu feiern ! Wir tragen dazu bei, indem wir eine Reihe von außergewöhnlichen Ereignissen für unsere Bürger und unsere Gäste stattfinden lassen, die ganz im Zeichen der Geselligkeit, des Austausches, der Offenheit und der Entdeckungen stehen.

Champéry hat bereits einige ungewöhnliche und innovative Veranstaltungen verwirklicht, welche das Wallis in seinem einzigartigen Glanz erstrahlen lassen. Der atemberaubenden nächtlichen Illumination der Dents du Midi im Rahmen des « 13 Sterne am Gipfel » Projekts folgt in diesem Sommer mit dem « cubique » eine geheimnisvolle Überraschung. Dies sind nur zwei Highlights einer Vielzahl von Events, welche für die kommenden Monate geplant sind.

Aber es gibt auch noch einen weiteren Geburtstag zu feiern. Im Jahre 1964 entwickelten einige Visionäre in Champéry, welches seit jeher zu den ältesten Tourismusregionen der Schweiz zählt, die verrückte Idee, die Skigebiete Champéry und Les Crosets mit denen unserer französischen Nachbarn zu verbinden. Ganz dem Grundsatz « Tourismus ohne Grenzen » entsprechend war dies vor 50 Jahren die Geburtsstunde der Portes du Soleil.

Dem Geist dieser Visionäre entsprechend finden jedes Jahr zahlreiche Großveranstaltungen in Champéry statt : die Tour du Pays de Vaud, das Maxi-Rires Festival, der Nationalfeiertag, die Musikalischen Begegnungen oder die Curling Europameisterschaften der Gruppe C. Auch im Jahr 2015 gibt es wieder eine bunte Mischung, sei es kultureller, traditioneller oder sportlicher Natur.

Wir heißen sie zu dieser Auflage der « Champéry Info » herzlich Willkommen und hoffen, dass diese harmonische Mischung zusammen mit der Gastfreundschaft der sympathischen « Champérolains » ihnen magische Momente verschafft, so dass sie Champéry, die Portes du Soleil und das Wallis für immer in ihr Herz schließen werden !

The Valaisan resort closest to Lake Geneva, Champéry is also the gateway to the Portes du Soleil, a vast recreational area for people of all ages and abilities. Between the various activities, entertainment and events on offer in Champéry, the village and its surroundings make for a destination that will delight the young, entertain the adults and exceed the expectations of all.

In direkter Umgebung zum Genfer See ist Champéry das Tor zu den Portes du Soleil. Ein nahezu unendliches Sport- und Erholungsgebiet für Menschen jeglichen Alters. Der Ort und die Umgebung bieten verschiedene Aktivitäten, Events und Feierlichkeiten, welche die Kindern erfreut, die Erwachsenen unterhält, aber auf jeden Fall ihre Erwartungen übertreffen wird.

C’est la carte pour bénéficierde plus de 50 activités ILLIMITEES dans les 12 stations-villages, pour seulement CHF 2.50 par jour chez un hébergeur partenaire.

Le domaine des Portes du Soleil est l’un des plus vastes domaines internationaux du monde. Douze stations (8 françaises et 4 suisses) sont reliées entre elles pour former un magnifique terrain de jeu. Les randonneurs y trouvent leur compte dans un décor de rêve. Le bon plan par excellence pour profiter un maximum de cette étendue est le Multi Pass.

Du 13 juin au 6 septembre 2015, les Portes du Soleil réinventent la montagne l’été pour en profiter seul, à deux, en famille ou en groupe. Partez en rando grâce aux 22 remontées mécaniques piétonnes, faites une pause rafraîchissante entre piscines, lacs aménagés ou mur de grimpe, montez au filet sur les courts de tennis ! Déplacez-vous de station en station avec les remontées mécaniques, les petits trains touristiques ou les navettes inter stations !

Multi Pass The Portes du Soleil Multi Pass is the golden ticket to more than 50 UNLIMITED activities in the 12 village resorts. It costs just CHF 2.50 per day from participating hosts. The Portes du Soleil is one of the largest international recreational

areas in the world. Twelve resorts, 8 French and 4 Swiss, are connected to form a vast outdoor playground. With breathtaking views in every direction, the best way to enjoy the full extent of the Portes du Soleil in summer is with the Multi Pass.

From June 13th to September 6th, 2015 the Portes du Soleil is the place to go for the perfect alpine holiday, whether you’re alone or with family and friends. Plan your day-trips around the 22 ski lifts operating in summer, choose from any number of swimming pools, lakes or climbing wall for a cool break, or hit a tennis court for a change of scene! Use the chairlifts, tourist trains and shuttles to get around without wasting a minute!

Multi PassMit dem Multi Pass Portes du Soleil können sie über 50 Aktivitäten in den 12 Gemeinden nutzen. Erstehen sie den Multi Pass für lediglich CHF 2.50 bei den an dieser Aktion teilnehmenden Die Region Portes du Soleil gehört zu den weltweit größten

international zusammenhängenden Gebieten. 12 Gemeinden (8 französische und 4 schweizer) sind miteinander verbunden und bilden ein großartiges Areal für jegliche Aktivitäten. Wanderer kommen in traumhafter Umgebung voll auf ihre Kosten. Eine perfekte Möglichkeit, um von der Weitläufigkeit des Gebiets zu profitieren, ist der Multi Pass.

Vom 13 Juni bis zum 6 September 2015 können sie alleine, zu zweit, als Familie oder Gruppe die sommerliche Gebirgswelt der Portes du Soleil entdecken. 22 Liftanlagen stehen den Wanderern zur Verfügung. Erfrischen sie sich in einem der Schwimmbäder oder unseren Bergseen, kühlen sie sich beim Kletterwand laufen ab oder spielen sie eine Runde Tennis. Nutzen sie die Liftanlagen, die öffentlichen Busse oder sogar die kleinen Bimmelbahnen, um entspannt von Ort zu Ort zu gelangen.

Dès les dernières neiges fondues, randonneurs et bikers ont la voie libre pour pratiquer leur activité favorite. Et les possibilités ne manquent pas, que ce soit dans les proches alentours du village ou sur les montagnes et plateaux qui dominent Champéry.

Avec plus de 20 installations mécaniques en fonction durant la période estivale, les Portes du Soleil restent un terrain de jeux et d’aventures sans équivalent. Les amateurs de mountain bike roulent sur des pistes spécialement conçues pour eux et retrouvent les mêmes sensations de glisse qu’en hiver.

Toujours grâce aux remontées mécaniques, les adeptes de balades peuvent économiser leurs efforts et parcourir ainsi de fabuleuses distances. L’occasion de découvrir alpages, lacs

d’altitude et tous les paysages grandioses des différentes stations des Portes du Soleil.

Les sommets environnants offrent aussi des randonnées d’exception. Au pied des Dents du Midi, les lacs de Soi et d’Antème sont tout bonnement grandioses. Le plateau de Barme, niché quant à lui sous les Dents Blanches, est un lieu idyllique d’où partent nombre de sentiers, certains accessibles et d’autres plus engagés.

Before the last winter snows have even melted, walkers, hikers and bikers take over the mountainsides. There are almost limitless excursions to choose from, whether you stay closer to home or venture higher up into the peaks and valleys surrounding Champéry.

A dauntingly vast territory for unparalleled outdoor adventures, the Portes du Soleil is surprisingly accessible, thanks to the 20 chairlifts that operate during the summer! Walkers can cover more ground in one day that would be possible anywhere else. Mountain bikers can sit back and enjoy the easy ride uphill, then drop into one of the many, specially-designed downhill tracks for maximum thrills.

The surrounding mountains offer some truly exceptional rambles and hikes. At the foot of the Dents du Midi, the Soi and Antème Lakes are simply spectacular. The Barme valley, nestled at the foot of the the Dents Blanches mountain range, is an idyllic jumping-off place for many trails, some accessible to all and others more challenging.

Sobald der letzte Schnee gesch-molzen ist und die Wege wieder frei sind, können Wanderer und Biker ihrer Lieblingsbeschäftigung nachgehen. Bei uns finden sie endlose Möglichkeiten, sei es in direkter Umgebung unseres schönen Dorfes oder in den Bergen und Hochtälern, welche sich oberhalb von Champéry erstrecken.

Während des Sommers stehen mehr als 20 Liftanlagen zu ihrer Verfügung, damit sie die unvergleichlichen Weiten und auch die abenteuerlichen Passagen der Portes du Soleil entdecken können. Speziell für Mountainbiker angelegte Trails lassen ihr Herz höher schlagen und führen sie – wie auch im Winter – von Station zu Station.

Natürlich profitieren auch die Wanderer von den Liftanlagen und helfen ihnen, größere Distanzen zu überwinden, um all die schönen Alpen, Bergseen und die unterschiedlichen Landschaften der Portes du Soleil zu erkunden.

Auch die umgebenden Berggipfel erlauben ihnen außergewöhnliche Wanderungen. Zu Fuße der Dents du Midi erwarten sie z.B. die wunderbaren Bergseen « de Soi » und « d’Antème ». Die Hochebene von Barme unterhalb der Dents Blanches ist ein idyllischer Ort von dem zahlreiche einfache, aber auch anspruchsvolle Wanderungen starten.

Un décor fabuleux à la carteDes sommets majestueux, des lacs alpins, des glaciers, des cascades, des cols, des forêts, une flore et une faune exceptionnelles caractérisent le légendaire tour pédestre des Dents du Midi. Cet été la randonnée mythique est proposée à la carte !

Le Tour des Dents du Midi fut le premier marathon de haute montagne au monde, ce qui lui donna une renommée internationale. Inauguré en 1972, il est aussi le premier tour pédestre du Valais. Les différents gîtes qui le jalonnent permettent d’organiser les étapes de façon individuelle. Le tour convient au randonneur ayant une bonne condition physique, il est accessible aux familles. De mi-juin à fin septembre, il est réalisable en 2, 3 ou 4 jours.

DE NOMBREUSES VARIANTES PERMETTENT ÉGALEMENT DE RALLONGER LE SÉJOUR.

La version sportive se fait en 4 jours et 3 nuits pour le prix forfaitaire de CHF 226.- (adulte) et CHF 171.- (enfant), y compris hébergement et pension complète.

A fabulous setting a la carteMajestic peaks, alpine lakes, glaciers, waterfalls, mountain passes, forests, exceptional flora and fauna characterize the legendary pedestrian tour of the Dents du Midi. This summer the mythical hike is proposed a la carte !

The Tour of Dents du Midi was the first hike marathon in the world, which gave him an international fame. Inaugurated in 1972, it was also the first pedestrian hike of the Valais. The various huts which mark it out allow you to plan your daily walking time according to your desires. The tour is suitable for hikers in good physical condition and is also accessible to families. It is achievable in 2, 3 or 4 days from mid-June to the end of September, depending on snow conditions.

Numerous variants also allow to extend the stay. The sports version works on a period of four days and three nights for the fixed price of CHF 226.- (Adult) and CHF 171.- (Child) including accommodation and full board.

Die Tour der Dents du Midi (Wallis) wurde 1972 eingeweiht und verdankt ihren Ruf dem Marathon, der fast 40 Jahre über auf der gleichen Strecke gelaufen wurde. Die verschiedenen Hütten, die auf dem Weg liegen, machen es möglich die Etappen individuell festzulegen. Die Tour ist für Wanderer mit guter Kondition gedacht, aber auch zugänglich für Familien. Sie kann innerhalb von 2, 3 oder 4 Tagen von Mitte Juni bis Ende September je nach den Schneebedingungen organisiert werden.

Zahlreiche Varianten machen es auch möglich den Aufenthalt zu verlängern. Die sportliche Version geht über 4 Tage und 3 Nächte zum Pauschalpreis von CHF 226.- (Erwachsener) und CHF 171.- (Kinder), Beherbergung und Vollpension inbegriffen.

La Galerie Défago2:20 6,4 km

Sans doute l’une des promenades les plus abordables de la région, avec juste ce qu’il faut d’aérien mais sans danger ! Taillée dans la paroi rocheuse qui fait face au village, la sillonner dans un sens ou dans l’autre offre une vue privilégiée sur Champéry.

Undoubtedly one of the most attainable walks in the area, the Galerie path is not particularly dangerous, but has enough of a bird’s eye view to take your breath away! The trail, carved into the sheer rock wall facing the village, offers magnificent views of Champéry.

Ohne Zweifel eine der am einfachsten zu erreichenden Wanderungen der Region – sehr luftig, aber gut gesichert. Sie führt durch die markante Felswand, welche sich direkt gegenüber von Champéry erhebt und bietet ihnen atemberaubende Blicke auf unseren schönen Ort.

Sur les traces des contrebandiers1:00 à 3:15 2 à 10 km

4 sentiers didactiques au départ du Plateau de Barme vous font découvrir cet endroit extraordinaire. Le principal longe l’arête de Berroi et conduit au Col de Bretolet en passant par le Col de Cou et offre un point de vue imprenable sur les Dents Blanches.

Starting in the Barme valley, 4 trails marked with storyboards tell the tales of the old ‘contrebandiers’. The main trail runs along the Berroi ridge, leading to the Col de Cou and Bretolet passes and offering breathtaking views of the Dents Blanches mountains along the way.

4 Themenlehrpfade, welche auf dem Hochplateau von Barme starten, lassen sie diese unvergleichliche Umgebung entdecken. Der Hauptweg führt über den breiten Grat von Berroi auf den Col de Bretolet und passiert dabei den Col de Cou. Dabei begleiten sie ständig wunderbare Ausblicken auf die Dents Blanches.

Arête des Esserts3:30 5,6 km

Randonnée plus confidentielle et également plus aérienne, l’arête des Esserts permet de rejoindre La Croix-de-Culet via Sur Cou. Le dénivelé est important, les mollets chauffent mais la vue sur les Dents du Midi fait vite oublier tout ça… Le retour peut se faire en téléphérique.

This hike is a scramble up the narrow Esserts ridge to the Croix de Culet via Sur Cou. The steep drops on either side are impressive and the terrain is challenging, but the glorious view of the Dents du Midi at the top is more than worth it. The return trip can be made by cable-car.

Der Grat von Essert verbindet luftig und anspruchsvoll das Gipfelkreuz Croix-de-Culet mit dem Weiler Sur Cou. Beim Anstieg wird einem schnell warm, aber der phantastische Blick auf die Dents du Midi lässt jede Anstrengung vergessen. Bergab besteht dann die Möglichkeit, gemütlich mit der Gondel nach Champéry zu schweben.

Bonaveau5:00 13 km

Point de passage incontournable de nombreux itinéraires majeurs de la région, Bonaveau et son refuge/cantine surplombent Champéry. De là-haut le coup d’œil sur le Val d’Illiez est sublime et il fait toujours bon y faire une pause avant de s’attaquer au Pas d’Encel, de basculer sur Barme ou encore de regagner le village.

The charming Bonaveau mountain refuge offers picture-perfect views of of the Val d’Illiez valley and is a point of passage for many major routes in the area, whether you’re taking a breather before tackling the treacherous Encel pass or coming back down from Barme on your way home to Champéry.

Die gemütliche Berghütte Bonavau thront hoch über Champéry und einige der klassischen Wanderwege führen hier vorbei. Der Blick auf das Val d’Illiez ist erhaben und verführt dazu, hier eine kleine Pause einzulegen, bevor es zum Pas d’Encel, nach Barme oder zurück nach Champéry geht.

Le Cirque des Lacs d’Anthème7:15 15,4 km

Le sentier de la découverte des Lacs d’Antème vous offre, au pied des Dents du Midi, un balisage spécial pour amoureux de la nature à l’état sauvage. Il est audio commenté pour une approche dynamique de son environnement.

The Dents-du-Midi dominate the skyline above Champéry. High up on this spectacular mountain ridge exists a peaceful place where man can truly be at one with the grandeur of nature.

Die Dents-du-Midi beherrschen das Val d’Illiez. Dort oben gibt es ein friedliches Plätzschen, das dazu einlädet, ein bisschen zu schlendern und die Ruhe geniessen.

Le Village des Chèvres3:20 11 km

De l’autre côté de la frontière, le bien nommé Village des Chèvres aux Lindarets ravit enfants et parents. L’accès est aisé grâce aux remontées mécaniques mais les plus valeureux peuvent également y accéder en marchant, avec un petit détour par le Lac Vert par exemple.

Just over the French border, the aptly named Village des Chèvres, or ‘Goat Village’, is a delightful destination for adults and children alike. Chairlifts make the picturesque village accessible to all, while more determined ramblers can reach the village on foot, in time for a hearty lunch, with a stop by the lovely Lac Vert on the way.

Auf der französischen Seite entzückt das Village des Chèvres in Lindarets jung und alt. Dank der Liftanlagen ist es recht einfach zu erreichen. Aber auch zu Fuß, beispielsweise mit einem kleinen Abstecher zum Lac Vert, gelangt man auf schönen Wegen dorthin.

Via Ferrata

La Via Ferrata de Tière fait face au village de Champéry et se situe dans un cadre idyllique, en rive droite de la rivière de la Vièze.

Pour vous mettre en appétit, l’ascension débute par la traversée de la falaise et se poursuit via une série de passerelles surplombant les cascades du torrent de Tière. On retrouve ensuite la paroi rocheuse et, au détour d’une vire, de bien surprenantes rencontres peuvent se faire... Le paysage est somptueux durant toute la montée.

The Tière Via Ferrata is located just opposite Champéry, in an idyllic setting on the right bank of the Vièze river.

Using fixed cables and safety harnesses, climbers first traverse the cliff face, then cross over a series of walkways overhanging the spectacular cascades and waterfalls of the Tière River. Once back on the rock wall, keep your eyes peeled. You never know what you might see, just around a bend in the path! This Via Ferrata is not for the faint-of-heart, but the spectacular views are worth the effort.

Die Via Ferrata de Tière liegt gegenüber vom Dorf Champéry und bietet einen idyllischen Rahmen auf dem rechten Seeufer des Flusses Vièze.

Um Ihnen Lust zu machen, beginnt der Aufstieg mit der Überquerung des Felsens und wird von mehreren Laufstegen oberhalb der Wasserfälle des Baches von Tière gefolgt. Im Anschluss entdecken Sie die felsige Oberwand und mit einem kleinen Umweg können Sie auf ganz besondere Arten stossen… Die Landschaft ist während des gesamten Aufstiegs atemberaubend.

variés et ludiques vous assurent de passer un moment inoubliable dans les arbres ! Pour une belle bouffée d’adrénaline, ne manquez pas les parcours « Tyro » et « Commando » ! Les plus petits ont aussi droit à leur lot de sensations, sur les premiers parcours ou sur le trampoline.

The Accrobranche du Dahu, located at the entrance to the Galerie Defago, offers 6 different obstacle courses... high up in the tree-tops! The basic routes offer a healthy dose of fun; the ‘Tyro’ and ‘Commando’ routes are a serious adrenaline rush. Even the littlest guests have their own pint-sized route and a trampoline to keep them busy.

Der Hochseilgarten Dahu befindet sich am Einstieg der Galerie Défago. 6 verschiedene spielerische Parcours bieten ihnen unvergessliche Momente in den Gipfeln der Bäume. Canyoning / Canyoning / Canyoning Ce sport aquatique se pratique dans les rivières et torrents, le principe étant

de descendre le cours d’eau en marchant, glissant, sautant ou encore via des rappels. Le canyoning de Champéry vous assure sensations et fraîcheur ! Le torrent de Chavalet se prête parfaitement à la pratique de cette activité – un canyon bien équipé, proposant divers toboggans, jumps et rappels, parfait pour une initiation en toute sécurité!

This water sport will let you discover the rivers and torrents while going down with the flow. Walking, jumping, sliding and at times abseiling! Fresh and reviving emotions guaranteed! The Chavalet river gorge is an impressive setting for canyoning but the well-equipped riverbed is perfectly safe for beginners, offering plenty of slides, jumps and rappels!

Die Chavalet Schlucht eignet sich hervorragend für eine Canyoning Tour. Der Canyon ist perfekt eingerichtet und hat zahlreiche Rutschen, Sprünge und Abseilstellen – ideal, um sicher die ersten Schritte beim Canyoning zu wagen.

Escalade / Climbing / Klettern Champéry possède l’un des meilleurs sites d’escalade de la région. Sur

le plateau de Barme, on trouve en effet une falaise parcourue de dizaines de voies, idéale pour l’initiation mais où les grimpeurs confirmés peuvent aussi repousser leurs limites. L’impressionnante paroi de la Galerie Défago offre également quelques splendides voies, réservées aux grimpeurs de très bon niveau. A noter également quelques spots plus confidentiels, comme le Pic d’Ayerne ou encore le rocher d’escalade du Chalet Rosalie.

Champéry boasts some of the best rock climbing in the region. In the Barme valley, the ‘Rocher de Barme’ is equipped with dozens of routes, from the easiest routes for beginners and children to routes that put even serious climbers to the test. The intimidating sheer-rock wall of the Galerie Défago also offers some splendid routes reserved for experienced climbers. It’s worth seeking out some of the lesser-known spots as well, such as the ‘Pic d’Ayerne’ or the climbing rock at Chalet Rosalie.

In Champéry findet sich einer der besten Klettergärten der Region. Auf der Hochebene von Barme finden sich zahlreiche, perfekt eingerichtete Routen, ideal für Einsteiger. Aber auch Hardmover kommen auf ihre Kosten. Auch die imposante Felswand der Galerie Défago bietet einige spektakuläre Routen für erfahrene Alpinisten. Nicht zu vergessen einige kleinere Geheimtipps wie der Pic d’Ayerne oder der Kletterfelsen am Chalet Rosalie.

Choose from climbing to the top of a high peak, tracing animal tracks on snowshoes, follow one of our alpine winter training or a summer safety course, learn all about ice climbing, take off for some heli-skiing in the deep powder. We organize outings, camps and hikes of all kinds throughout the year but we can also tailor-make an excursion to fit your wildest dreams.

Most of Champéry’s traditional ‘fêtes’ hark back to time immemorial. Traditions are part of the fabric of our daily lives, and many of the special events planned throughout the year celebrate this rich heritage. They are part of what makes Champéry such a unique and special place.

Unsere traditionellen Feste sind sehr beliebt und haben eine lange Geschichte. Sie sind wichtiger Teil unseres jährlichen Veranstaltungskalenders. Bei uns werden die Traditionen erhalten und gepflegt. Sie sind ein wertvoller Bestandteil des authentischen Champéry und laden ein, die großartige Landschaft und unsere Kultur zu entdecken.

Fête nationale1 AOÛT

Rendez-vous estival incontournable, Champéry organise chaque année une Fête Nationale d’envergure quasi internationale !

Découvrez tout au long de la journée, des animations musicales, des productions de groupes folkloriques, château gonflable ainsi que diverses autres animations...

Sans oublier bien entendu, le traditionnel cortège aux flambeaux en début de soirée, suivi de l’illumination de certains sommets des Dents du Midi et alentours, d’un feu d’artifice, ainsi qu’un grand bal populaire.

National Holiday 1 ST AUGUST

For this not-to-be-missed annual summer rendez-vous, Champéry organizes a National Holiday celebration of international grandeur.

The village of Champéry puts on a show that lasts all day long and includes musical performances, folklore group demonstrations and lots of other activities.

Sunset brings the traditional torchlight parade, which is followed by the lighting of the fires on the Dents du Midi summits and fireworks. Finally, the evening festivities culminate with dancing at the big public ball!

L’édition 2015 du Maxi-Rires Festvial s’annonce des plus relevées. C’est que le festival ne cesse d’aller crescendo année après année. Il est déjà loin le temps où seul quatre artistes montaient sur la grande scène.

In 2014, we inaugurated the ‘Open Stage’ a free-entry comedy scene featuring talented up-and-coming comedians. Another integral part of the festival is the ‘Aftershow’ tent. On more than one occasion, the evening’s star performer has joined the crowd at Ziggy’s bar for an impromptu after party, hanging with the fans or DJing till dawn!

Pass’ Portes du Soleil

Pour la 12ème édition, la Pass’Portes du Soleil aura lieu les 26, 27 et 28 juin 2015. Le salon se tiendra à Morzine et offrira comme toujours la possibilité de tester gratuitement les derniers VTT.

La Pass’Portes du Soleil MTB est une randonnée en montagne parcourant un dénivelé positif de 1’000m et négatif de plus de 6’000m, entre la France et la Suisse à la découverte du fabuleux domaine Mountain Bike des Portes du Soleil et de ses paysages grandioses. Le parcours de 80km emprunte 15 remontées mécaniques du domaine et dispose de 8 points de ravitaillements avec spécialités locales.

La Pass’Portes n’est pas seulement un événement pour les bikers, mais séduit aussi les amoureux de la randonnée. La rando de la Pass’Portes permet de découvrir le territoire et le terroir, au cœur du Geopark du Chablais. Plusieurs niveaux de difficulté selon les parcours et 6 stations de départ attendent les marcheurs, qui pourront emprunter les remontées et les ravitaillements.

The phenomenally successful Pass’Portes is a mountain biking tour that straddles the Franco-Swiss border, crisscrossing the vast, scenic terrain of the Portes du Soleil recreational area. Don’t really bike? The Pass’Portes is not just for bikers; it’s for hikers too! The Pass’Portes hike explores the area at the very heart of the Chablais Geopark. 6 departure points offer hikes of varying levels of difficulty, with chairlifts and aid stations along the way.

16èmes Rencontres Musicales de Champéry16th annual ‘Rencontres Musicales’16. Musikalische Begegnungen

La 16ème édition s’ouvre avec une grande dame du cinéma français, Brigitte Fossey. Avec le pianiste Masakatsu Nakano, elle nous révélera les états d’âme de Franz Liszt et Marie D’Agoult.

La violoncelliste Estelle Revaz nous fait le plaisir de revenir aux pieds des Dents du Midi, cette année avec ses partenaires du Trio Colomba. Avec le pianiste Christian Chamorel, elle entourera également le clarinettiste Damien Bachmann qui nous fera découvrir toutes les facettes de son fascinant instrument. La flûte sera également à l’honneur avec l’excellent Marc Grauwels accompagné par Stéphane De May, sans oublier la voix puisque le baryton Benjamin Appl et le pianiste Fabrizio Chiovetta nous interpréteront le célèbre « Winterreise » de Franz Schubert.

Réjouissons-nous par ailleurs de deux soirées avec orchestre : emmenés par Oleg Kaskiv, Les Solistes de l’Académie Menuhin nous feront le plaisir d’une nouvelle visite, tandis que Pierre Amoyal nous rejoindra quelques jours plus tard avec sa Camerata et son célèbre Stradivarius.

Pilier de nos Rencontres Musicales depuis toujours, le Trio Nota Bene mettra un point final à cette nouvelle et riche édition. Tous les concerts auront lieu dans notre cher Temple dont l’acoustique a encore été améliorée par Jean-Claude Gaberel.

The 16th edition will open with the Grande Dame of French cinema, Brigitte Fossey. She, and pianist Masakatsu Nakano, will explore the many facets of Franz Liszt’s relationship with Marie D’Agoult.

Once again this year, at the foot of the Dents du Midi, we will have the great honour of hosting Cellist Estelle Revaz and her partners in the Trio Colomba. Together with pianist Christian Chamorel, Estelle Revaz will also accompany clarinetist Damien Bachmann, who delights audiences with his fascinatingly versatile instrument. Our programme will also include the excellent flautist, Marc Grauwels, accompanied by Stéphane De May and baritone Benjamin Appl’s interpretation of the famous ‘Winterreise’ by Franz Schubert, accompanied by pianist Fabrizio Chiovetta.

We are equally proud to announce two orchestral evenings. Led by Oleg Kaskiv, the Menuhin Academy Soloists have accepted our invitation for a return visit followed, a few days later, by Pierre Amoyal and his Camerata with its famous Stradivarius.

The Trio Nota Bene, always the backbone of the Rencontres Musicales, will bring this year’s festival to a close. All concerts will take place in Champéry’s much-beloved Protestant Church, whose acoustics have recently been further improved by Jean-Claude Gaberel.

Die 16. Auflage der Musikalischen Begegnungen wird von Brigitte Fossey eröffnet, der Grande Dame des französischen Kinos. Gemeinsam mit dem Pianisten Masakatsu Nakano wird sie uns den Gefühlszustand von Franz Liszt und Marie D’Agoult offenbaren.

Zu unserer größten Freude beehrt uns die Cellistin Estelle Revaz wieder in Champéry ; in diesem Jahr mit dem Trio Colomba. Begleiten wird sie dabei der Pianist Christian Chamorel und der Klarinettist Damien Bachmann, welcher uns alle Facetten seines faszinierenden Instruments entdecken lässt. Marc Grauwels, begleitet von Stéphane De May am Klavier, wird uns beim Konzert « Flûtissima » auf der Flöte verzaubern und der Baryton Benjamin Appl sowie der Pianist Fabrizio Chiovetta nehmen und mit auf Franz Schuberts « Winterreise ».

Wir freuen uns aber auch auf zwei Orchesterabende : Les Solistes de l’Academie Menuhin beglücken uns unter der Leitung von Oleg Kaskiv mit einem erneuten Besuch und einige Tage später ist Pierre Amoyal mit dem Kammerorchester « Camerata Pierre Amoyal » und seiner berühmten « Kochanski » Stradivari zu Gast.

Wie seit jeher ist der Grundpfeiler unserer Musikalischen Begegnungen das Trio Nota Bene, welches den finalen Punkt der diesjährigen großartigen Auflage setzt. Alle Konzerte finden im protestantischen Tempel von Champéry statt, wo Jean-Claude Gaberel die Akustik einmal mehr verfeinert hat.

Mémorial Christian Rey-BelletChristian Rey-Bellet Memorial RunBerglauf in Erinnerung an Christian Rey-Bellet

Créé en l’honneur de Christian, enfant du pays décédé en montagne en 2012, le Mémorial Christian Rey-Bellet est une course pédestre organisée pour la première fois cette année. Sa vocation : réunir les milieux du secours, dont Christian faisait partie, lors d’une course unique ouverte à tous. Le parcours relie Champéry à la Croix de Culet en passant par la sublime arête des Esserts, offrant ainsi un panorama unique sur

Champéry et les Dents du Midi. Pour la petite histoire, Christian avait participé, à 15 ans, à la pose de cette fameuse Croix-de-Culet.

De part son tracé exceptionnel et son aspect sentimental, le Mémorial Christian Rey-Bellet s’annonce d’ores et déjà comme un immanquable du calendrier champérolain. A retrouver chaque année, le dernier samedi d’août.

Named for a late friend and companion who, tragically, died in the mountains in 2012, the Christian Rey-Bellet Memorial Run will be held for the first time this year. This event will unite the local ‘Samaritans’, the first-aid rescue group that Christian was an integral part of, and amateur runners in a race to the Croix de Culet.

The route leaves from Champéry and climbs to the Croix de Culet via the breathtaking Esserts Ridge, offering spectacular views of Champéry and the Dents du Midi along the way. For the record, at age 15, Christian helped to lay the famous stone ‘Croix-de-Culet’.

The Christian Rey-Bellet Memorial Race promises to be an emotional event celebrating life, loss and the magnificent natural landscape we live in. Join us every year on the last Saturday in August.

Zu Ehren von Christian, Sohn unserer Region, welcher 2012 in den Bergen verunglückte, wird der Berglauf « Mémorial Christian Rey-Bellet » in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal stattfinden. Er soll dazu dienen, die Mitglieder der Walliser Rettungsorganisation, bei der auch Christian engagiert war, im Rahmen eines Rennens, welches offen für jedermann ist, zusammen zu bringen.

Die Strecke verbindet Champéry mit dem Croix de Culet und führt über den schwindelerregenden Esserts Grat mit eindrucksvollen Blicken auf die Dents du Midi. Am Ziel wartet das Croix-de-Culet, an dessen Aufstellung Christian im Alter von 15 Jahren beteiligt war.

Aufgrund seiner außergewöhnlichen Streckenführung und der berührenden Idee ist das Mémorial Christian Rey-Bellet schon jetzt ein fester Bestandteil im Kalender von Champéry ; von nun an in jedem Jahr am letzten Samstag im August.

PISCINE INTÉRIEURE ET EXTÉRIEURELe centre sportif le Palladium vous invite à découvrir la piscine avec 1 bassin intérieur (4 lignes de 25 mètres). Pour les beaux jours, 1 bassin extérieur chauffé vous permettra d’admirer les Dents Du Midi en vous reposant au bord de l’eau.

PHYSIOTHÉRAPIE ET MASSAGE« Détente du corps et de l’esprit, massage sportif, massage assis « Amma » ou massage pour bébé, une large palette de soins vous sont proposés par l’équipe de masseurs. l’environnement, le centre sportif et la commune se dotent d’un nouveau système de récupération de chaleur. Grâce à ce système, la chaleur produite par le refroidissement des compresseurs de la patinoire permet de chauffer les piscines intérieures et extérieures ainsi que le chauffage et l’eau sanitaire du complexe. Cette innovation permet d’économiser et de gagner en autonomie.

Environment Always concerned about our impact on

the environment, the sports center and the municipality have invested in a new heat-recovery system. This allows us to use the heat produced by the cooling of the skating rink ice compressors to heat the indoor and outdoor pools in addition to creating hot water for the entire complex. This innovation saves money and makes us less dependant on non-renewable energies.

Après le succès des Championnats d’Europe de Curling 2014, Champéry a le plaisir d’accueillir à nouveau une compétition continentale avec les Championnats d’Europe de Curling 2015 du groupe C. Du 12 au 17 octobre 2015, la station vibrera à nouveau aux exploits d’équipes venues de toute l’Europe, le tout dans une ambiance chaleureuse et conviviale.

After the resounding success of the 2014 European Curling Championships, Champéry is proud to announce that we will once again be hosting an international competition with the 2015 Group C European Championships. From October 12th to the 17th, teams from across Europe will gather to contest the Group C title.

Direction le Palladium pour vous essayer au curling, un des sports emblématiques de Champéry. Toujours au Palladium, les hockeyeurs et patineurs bénéficient d’infrastructures de top qualité. Ce n’est pas un hasard si Stéphane Lambiel y a créé sa Skating School of Switzerland.

Champéry and the Portes du Soleil, is a winter-sports paradise. Every season, skiers and snowboarders come from all over the world, drawn to one of the largest ski areas in the world by their shared passion for snowsports. Freestylers can test their skills on the many snowparks throughout the Portes du Soleil, while the vast domain offers an infinite number of slopes for piste skiers and freeriders alike.

The Grand-Paradis cross-country ski track is a peaceful, out-of-the-way wonderland that is especially lovely when fully lit at night time. If you really want to get off the beaten path, grab a pair of rackets and explore one of the countless snowshoe or winter hiking trails.

At the Palladium, you can try your hand at curling, one of Champéry’s flagship sports. The Palladium also offers top-notch infrastructure for hockey players and ice skaters. It’s no coincidence that Stéphane Lambiel has chosen to house his Skating School of Switzerland under our roof.

We’re sure you’ll agree, Champéry is the perfect place to spend your next winter holiday. Not just for the winter sports and fun to be had, but for the memories that last a lifetime!
