BT2000: “a facon”

MITS Pro Software
Arbin’s software for BT2000, MITS”Pro, is an advanced software package. It is not a simple battery cycling software. It has built in many advanced features for a broad application range. It is appreciated by many scientist and engineers because it enables them to conduct many experiments conveniently, which would be otherwise impossible. To the operator, there are several basic portions:
*. System configuration: it stores all permanent parameters and data of the system configuration, including channel configuration, calibration data, addresses, communication set ups...
*. Calibration: to conduct calibration, manual or automatic
www.arbin.com
MITS Pro Software Operation
*. Batch file: this file stores semi-permanent parameters, data and set ups for each channel. These data describe the physical set ups and properties of the channel, such as test schedule assignment, auxiliary input channel mapping, voltage limit set up, and/or characteristics of test subjects, such as specific capacity, weight or nominal capacity of test electrode or cell. Batch file is stationary to a system at certain time.
*. Schedule: it is to define test procedures. A schedule is portable for different channels, even machines.
*. Monitor screen: This is the work station for operator after setting up a system and all channels are ready to function. Operator will start, stop, jump, resume tests from this screen. It also provides real time data in tabular or graphical form to operator.

MITS pro Operation modes:
Cyclic voltammetry: it defines and controls complete cyclic voltammetry precisely Ramp: it scan up or down current or voltage at defined speedFormula: with this function, user can define a process with defining a formula. Good example is to define current sine wave. Simulation: It output current according to time and current value specified in a data fileoperation control: in this mode, user specify some control parameters such as increment and decrement of cycle number, counters; or reset of cycle number, counters and timers. ACIR: AC impedance measurementDCIR: DC resistance measurement

Traditionally, auxiliary inputs are dedicated to a main channel. As a result, many auxiliary inputs will be needed for every possible usage on every channel. Virtual mapping enable user to assign any single or group of auxiliary inputs to any main I/V channel. Any auxiliary input can also be assigned to several main I/V channels. As result, only small number of input channels may serve for large number of main channels and can be more creative and more flexible in the application

Some procedures are difficult to schedule manually. Example is road testing of EV battery. The simulation function can convert a data file from a life test, such as real road test of EV battery, to a schedule automatically. The simulation function makes complicated test procedure not only possible, but also simple.

Standard tests:
MITS pro includes a certain number of standardized testsShould they not be included, other types of tests can be programmed for you by our support engineers. The variety of tests possible includes BCI, USABC, SAE, IEC, ENThe tests cover a wide array of procedures such as reverse capacity, cold cranking, cycling, …

Delta time: time from last data logging
Delta I: current change from last data logging
Delta V: voltage change from last data logging
Step time AND delta X These conditions can be in OR logicDo not use >, < , <= or >= alone as recording condition because it will take too many data at maximum speed. Use them with delta X condition with “AND” logic

Typical data recording possibilities:
Test schedule is to define a test procedure. It is portable between machines and channelsThere are mainly two main pages: global and step pages. In global page, general items such as comments and data file format are entered. Another important items are safety limits for current, voltage (and power). In step page, actual test process is defined step by step with control modes and value. Step termination and data logging conditions are also defined. Control parameter: current, voltage, time Measurement parameters: current, voltage, power, load, time…Termination and data logging conditions are defined by meta variables and multiple timers, counters…. It can be multiple conditions in AND and OR logic for one step.Data file: date, time, step#, current, voltage, energy, capacity, power, load...www.arbin.com

Monitor screen is the main interface between machine and user. 4 monitor screens are provided for convenience of use.
The detail view provide real time data and information, one line for each channel. It include date, time, test name, schedule name, step#, current, voltage, energy, capacity, power, load…. This is the main screen for user to quickly scan each channels information. The brief view give a glance of all channels of their status. Each channel is represented with a small square box and color codes represent status such as charge, discharge, stop…Graph view plot test curves of a number of channels for certain period of time up to the moment. It is convenient to check the test trend of several channels through this view.Channel view present all available data of one channel on one screen, including SMB data. User does not need to scroll the screen like in the detail view.
