ObjectiveUse the basic tools in Illustrator & InDesign.

Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image.Use the new logo to design consistent layouts or a business card.

ProcessI had a lot o un creating this business card. I used the same Halloween themethat I created or the logo project and tweaked it a bit to make it fit. I was goingto make it a horizontal business card, but afer some eedback I changed thedesign and made it vertical. Tis made the text more readable and overall morepleasing to the eye. I decided to make a backside because I wanted to make itmore un and inviting to people.

ObjectiveUse the basic tools in Illustrator & InDesign.Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image.

Use the new logo to design consistent layouts or a letterhead.

ProcessTe stationary was pretty hard to create; I had originally put the ino in theright corner, but it didn’t look very unified and made the letterhead seemunbalanced. Ten I brought the bat-image down urther into the page andmoved the ino into the lef corner. Tis helped to contain the ino and create a

lot o white space.

CorrectionsI thought the red was a bit intense, so I lowered the opacity to 20% andchanged the color to black. Now the red in the business title stands out.

ObjectiveDemonstrate advanced Photoshop skills or layout with multiple elements.Use a mask to apply a filter to one part o the image.

Apply typography principles.

ProcessTe first step I took was to find a quote so I could find some inspiration or amotivational ad. Next I ound a nice picture o some mountains and anotherpicture o this boy with really intense green eyes. I then started thinking abouthow to combine the pictures without it looking super cheesy, and I had the idea

to put the kid in place o the background mountains. In the first draf, I blurredthe edge o the mountains and afer I turned it in, I decided I wanted to keepthe shape really crisp so it was obvious that they were mountains.

ObjectiveCreate an original logo to fit a company or personal image that will appeal tothe audience.Create three different color variations.

ProcessI used mostly circles to create the logo, except or the mouth and ears o the bat.While I wanted it to be Halloween themed, it was suggested that I make it moreplayul, so I added the ace and made the ears bigger. I also lightened up the redcolor a bit and changed the ont to something more light. I wanted to make itplayul so that people wouldn’t be as scared to donate blood.

ObjectiveLearn basic photography skills.Choose a color scheme, take a photo to match those colors, then incorporate

the colors into the layout.Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then download it.Adjust image levels, saturation, color balance, sharpen tool on separate layersor NDE (non-destructive editing.)

ProcessI took this picture o some flowers outside o my apartment complex and ed-

ited it in Adobe Photoshop. I added an opaque black background to the textto increase the readability. I made the colors o the flowers more intense thanthe rest o the image to create a strong ocal point. I used the image to promoteplanting flowers to help increase the bee population.

ObjectiveCreate and align a olded document in Adobe Illustrator.Incorperate quality images in the brochure.

ProcessWhen thinking o ideas or the brochure, I knew the best way I could enjoycreating it is to make it about cats and dogs. So I decided to make an ASPCAbrochure. I wanted it be really proessional and inormative, but also cute. Inorder to do that, I kept the clean white color as the background and let thecolors in the animals stand out. It still elt a bit empty though, so I ound a pawprint stencil online and turned it into a border. I created the image o the kittenand puppy in the paw on the ront by using an image o a pawprint romGoogle and made a clipping mask o it and the picture o the kitten and puppy.I changed it rom the original by continuing the border onto the top lef o theoutside.

Objective

Size and optimize an original logo as a .png or a web page so the long side is300 – 500 pixels.Write content to describe the process o creating your logo and how it appealsto a target audience.Acquire a working knowledge o HML. Acquire a working knowledge o CSS.

Process

Tis project was pretty easy or me since I already had a pretty good knowledgeo HML and CSS. I chose to center the logo at the top o the page to make itlook nicer. I used the Code Writer program to write the code. I used the sameshade o red as the logo or some o the text and the header. I chose to use blackas the background because it looked the best out o the other colors I tried.

DescriptionFlier I created or the Graduate Leadership Conerence.

Programs UsedI created this project in Adobe Indesign.

ObjectiveApply the design principles and use appropriate typography.

Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout.

ProcessI mainly used the shape tool to make a bunch o squares. I experimented with abunch o different square sizes and moved them around until they fit togethernicely. I used a black background at first to uniy the shapes, but my instructorpointed out that I could create some white space i I got rid o the black border.

So I removed the border and it really reed up some space! I created some con-trast by making the squares different shapes, but created repetition by makingthem the same color.

ObjectiveFind, scan and import a high-quality image.Create a ull-bleed design.

Choose a color scheme and typeace that works or your message and audience.Learn to use only Word design eatures without using any Adobe programs,including Photoshop.

ProcessI scanned in the image rom a book called For Freedom. Ten, using MicrosofWord, I created an ad or a undraiser asking people to donate stuff to an orga-

nization to help Veterans. I edited the image by adding a Paint Brush effect toit and ound the background online. I created the stars in Word. I tried to ocuson the alignment principle this time around; I made sure to arrange the text ina way that unifies the image and sets the most important ino apart rom therest.
