Overview
Brian’s career includes the management of significant Government assets in Australia and the overseas diplomatic estate which included periods as Chief Property Officer (acquisitions, leasing & asset management), Director Construction Management (managing 8 project officers controlling some 40 consultants and associated contractors and direct responsibility for 55 projects in 27 countries) and Director Strategic Planning (5-10 year planning horizons).
Activities have included business case analysis, policy briefing of ministers and public scrutiny through parliamentary committees, the coordination of multiple stakeholders, direction of multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams, and difficult project environments incorporating significant risks.
During the period 1996-1998 as General Manager PPMI Pty Ltd, a joint venture with the University of New England, he contributed to the development of the current AQF 5 Diploma in Project Management program and its delivery methodology.
As General Manager (1999-2002) of a 5,000 member major community based organisation Brian focussed primarily on organisational and financial restructuring and customer service improvement and the instigation and application of event (project) management methodologies (including training).
Hard won experiences then focussed on business change and performance improvement through management by projects in the construction, utilities & power generation and government management environment. The more recent significant work is directed towards business delivery & benefits realisation.
Recent Experiences
Team Leader for a major international project managed change management program (Malaysian Department of Public Works) involving some 30+ professional personnel implementing 14 separate project management ‘products’ including substantial knowledge transfer. The program included partnering, customer service improvement, communications, project categorisation, risk management, competency based standards, professional & soft skill development and the subsequent evaluation and PM certification of engineering professionals(2006-9)
Major contributor to the design, development and delivery of a Assessor Training Package for the Malaysian Department of Public Works including the coaching, evaluation and certification of Assessors (2008-9).
The development and delivery of competency based project management workshop programs and personal coaching targeting organisation specific business improvement based on management by projects in major private sector & Australian Government organisations. Project

skills audits to evaluate performance outcomes (15 years).
The needs analysis, development and presentation of project management & contract management workshops complimenting revised operational procedures and enhance project management competencies.
