The najor objectives of the conference are to exchangeinformetion and vi-ews on ner^r developments concerning hydroelectric resources in Canada and to explore what can be doneto promote development of these renewable resources in a waywhich is compatibLe with long-term environmental stabillty.Special emphasl-s will be placed on hydroelectric power devel-opment of smaLl-sca1e, low-head, existing non-hydro or re-tired sites.

Two fleld trips are planned.
