I am working as Vice President, Medical Affairs, in Manipal Group for last 6 years. Before that,

for a period of 2 ½ years, I worked as Dean, Manipal Institute of Regenerative Medicine

(MIRM), Bangalore. My role in Stempeutics is to look after the Clinical Development, pre-

clinical research and basic research involving stem cells including Mesenchymal Stromal cells.

Earlier during my tenure with the Armed Forces (for 24 years), I also worked in both

professional and administrative appointments in zonal hospitals (bed strength of > 200) and

tertiary care hospitals. Professionally I am a trained Haematopathologist, from All India Institute

of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and have done my PhD in Hematology from the same

Institute. During these 14 years as specialist in the Armed Forces, I have held varying

appointments, both as a clinician, teacher and researcher giving me vast experience in

Haematopathology, Transfusion Medicine, Pathology and Stem Cells. I have also worked for

many years in a premier Institution of the Armed Forces like Armed Forces Medical College,

b) A randomized double blind, multicentric, placebo controlled, single dose, phase – I/II study assessing the safety and efficacy of intramuscular ex vivo cultured adult allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in patients with critical limb ischemia – study completed.

c) A non-randomized, open label, multicentric, dose ranging, phase II study assessing the efficacy and safety of intramuscular administration of stempeucel – CLI TM (ex vivo cultured adult bone marrow derived allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells) in patients with critical limb ischaemia due to Buerger’s disease – study completed.

d) A randomized double blind, multicentric, placebo controlled, phase – II study assessing the safety and efficacy of intraarticular ex vivo cultured adult allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in patients with Osteoarthritis of knee – study completed.

e) A parallel group randomized, open blinded end point evaluation, multicentric, dose escalation, phase II study assessing the safety and efficacy of intraarterial (Hepatic) ex vivo cultured adult allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in patients with Alcoholic Liver Cirrhosis – study completed.
