Researching and writing storylines, developing content for each episode and finding interesting stories to tell about ships, people, places and battles. Creating an overall narrative which clearly and succinctly demonstrates how ships have changed over the years – then implementing the filming of said narrative. Working in the office and on location setting up shoots both in the UK and abroad with large institutions and small private boat owners. Responsible for all logistics and coming up with a viable shooting schedule spanning a period of 3 months that is within budget and able to deliver all content required for edit. Casting experts and veterans as contributors and working with them to develop content, draft interview questions and write shooting scripts. Filming interviews and GV’s on location in the UK and abroad. Senior Researcher - Antiques Road Trip & Celebrity Antiques Road Trip (Series 13, 14 and 6) BBC 1 & 2, STV (March 2016- July 2016) Working on location as front line production, across all logistics; managing shoots, anticipating

problems in advance and dealing with them. This role involves driving the day from start to finish, ensuring content is gathered, all talent and crew know what they are doing and where they are supposed to be and making sure that any eventuality is planned for.

Organising filming and maintaining relationships with locations, institutions, contributors, celebrities and experts as well as other crew.

Shooting interviews and location GV’s on Sony EX3 and Sony Professional XD CAM, cross shooting actuality and rigging go pros for in car filming as well as creatively applying their use to driving shots.

Rigging cars for tracking and planning tracking routes on a daily basis, being safe at all times whilst directing editorial content and providing driving directions.

Managing kit, including ensuring all radio mics, cameras, walkie-talkies and lights are working and in the right place and the right van at all times with this assistance of a runner.

Handling and keeping rushes safe, including, Professional XD CAM disks, SD Cards etc... As live logging on location, ensuring detailed notes are made about exciting and funny editorial content

in order to report back to the edit.

Ensuring BBC editorial policy and OFCOM rules are adhered to on the ground. Spotting copyright issues as they arise and steering filming away from them.

This role requires extreme flexibility and the ability to tackle problems on the ground head on, including shops dropping out of filming, classic cars breaking down and presenters getting lost.

Researcher – Sport Relief 2016 – BBC 1 & Associated Programming, Comic Relief (Sept 15 – Feb 16) Setting up UK and international shoots, casting contributors, carrying out Recces, running voice over

sessions and working across edits. Setting up, scripting and creating appeal films for Blue Peter, The One Show, Jo Brands Hell of a Walk,

Let’s Play Darts for Sports Relief and The Great British Bake off does Sport Relief. Liaising with fixers and charities both national, international and grass roots community foundations to

gather permissions for filming. Writing pitch documents and trip briefings as well as scripting editorial content and managing logistics

and schedules. Assisting on shoots including sound and boom operation, sorting releases and interviewing

contributors. Working with high profile talent on location during filming and always presenting a professional and

friendly manner whatever the situation.
