Morse PTO Fun Run 2017 Honors and Awards
Total Raised - $15,558 (that includes the 10% of the online donations that the site takes, but we
always include that) This is the third year in a row that we have exceeded our goal by $3000 + dollars. Two years ago our goal was $7000 and we raised $10000, last year our goal was $10000 and we raised $13000.
Winning Class - Green with $1431 - They get to play kick ball with Mrs. Zendler against the teachers, they get to make a batch of smile, and they get Dickie’s Cup and free kids meal coupons.
Top Fundraiser in the School - $965 Parker M. Lord/Reis He will be principal for a day.
Top Fundraisers in each Grade - They each get a bag of slime 5 - $415 Joshua C Versteegden 4 - $965 Parker M Lord/Reis 3 - $225 Lola L Harp/Muz 2 - $250 Valentino M Segovia 1 - $410 Alana O Woodman k - $250 Medhansh V Mills Teacher - Miss Green $500
Every student that raised funds will receive a stress ball.

• New applica:ons must be filled out each year. If we haven’t received a new & approved applica:on by October 16th, students will then be charged full price for meals as of October 17th.

Science Olympiad News Science Olympiad is seeking a third grade parent to be an assistant head coach. We are trying to diversify the leadership so that one person is not in charge of all planning. If you are interested, please meet with Rose Deliu (Head Coach) or Valerie Gobler (Treasurer) at the Science Olympiad Parent Meeting on Wednesday, October 18th at 6:30 in the cafeteria.
This week’s spotlight Event-PTO Meeting- Learn About the Sinking
Fund! In a little over a month, you will be asked to decide an important issue in the November election. The Troy School District is asking voters to consider a 1 mill Building and Site Sinking Fund. This fund would be created at NO INCREASE TO YOUR CURRENT TAX RATE and would allow us to make necessary repairs and refurbishments to Morse and the rest of our schools. If you have questions about this proposal, there is lots of information and a FAQ link on the TSD website: http://www.troy.k12.mi.us/apps/news/article/754460 But the most important thing to do right now is to make sure you are registered to vote! The last day to register is Tuesday, October 10th. Math Pentathlon News! Good News-‐ We have a FULL Math Pentathlon Team that includes as many students and their
parents that we can fit in our cafeteria . All students selected for Math Pentathlon
membership for the 17-‐18 school year have been notified via email. For these selected students our first practice session is on
October 24th from 630-‐800PM in the Morse Cafe. (Persons arriving after 630PM will not be admitted so the pace of the program can be
kept)
Still Interested in membership for this year? Great News! Students and their families that wish to participate still may -‐ Join the “Morse” team and
practice from home! (Purchase of materials required) As well, parents MUST attend a pentathlon training -‐ See link below.
