THE STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE

Les élèves de 3F et 3G ont rédigé quelques articles afin de rendre compte de la sortie organisée hier (Mardi 1er Février) au théâtre de l’Alambra à Paris pour assister à une représentation de la pièce adaptée du roman de Robert Louis Stevenson, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Voici leurs commentaires… Au moment du départ, à 10h45, nous nous sommes rendus à la gare de Chelles. Nous avons attendu le train pendant 15 minutes. Cela était pénible car il faisait un froid de canard. Le train est enfin arrivé et nous avons pu nous réchauffer, nous divertir et discuter ensemble. Enfin arrivés à la gare Magenta, nous avons pris la ligne 5 du métro. La faim commençait à se faire sentir chez certains élèves ! Nous nous sommes alors arrêtés à l’arrêt « République » pour pic-niquer : certains ont eu la chance de s’asseoir sur des bancs pour manger, et d’autres ont été contraints de manger debout ! Pour les demi-pensionnaires, nous avons reçu les pic-niques de la cantine mais comme nous ne les aimions pas, nous avons préféré les donner à des gens qui n’ont pas la chance de manger tous les jours. In front of the thatre, we waited for 20 minutes. We then came in and a man showed us where to sit. He told us it was forbidden to eat, drink or take photos during the performance, so everybody was disappointed! The Alambra Theater is a small place but it was quite good. The seats were not very comfortable but a few of us slept whereas most of the others listened to the story. It was a very good performance. Mr Hyde was scary, frightening and strange. The play was like the story in the book, except for some things: two actors played Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde whereas they are supposed to be the same person but it was good for us because it helped us understand the story. At the end of the performance, we were able to ask questions to the actors: it was interesting and we learnt that 2 of the actors were French, one was from New Zealand and one was American! We came back at 4:45 in Chelles. Dickson, Amandine and Thushantan.

La sortie à Paris a ainsi marqué la fin du projet autour de l’histoire de Dr Jekyll et Mr Hyde. Cette sortie a permis aux élèves de mieux visualiser l’histoire lue, d’écouter et de comprendre de l’anglais oral, d’assister à une représentation théâtrale, chose à laquelle nos chers élèves sont peu habitués ! En espérant renouveler l’expérience !!!
