Airpo rt ne ws:

Vancouver Airport underwent considerable develop ment between 2000 and 2009, the latest development

being the opening of a direct rapid transit rail link connecting it directly to central Vancouver.

Information:

Customer service counters can be found on the Departures level of both the Domestic and International

terminals. Tourism British Columbia Visitor Information Centre (tel: (604) 20 7 09 53/1598) counters are located

on the Arrivals level in both the International and Domestic terminals and can help with accommodation,

sightseeing and ground transportation tickets; multi-lingual services are available.

Transfer between terminals:

The gl ass corrido r walkway, known as the Link, conn ects the Internationa l and Domestic terminals. A free

shuttle runs between the International and Domestic terminals and the South Terminal.

Driving directions:

The airpo rt is linked to Vancou ver via the Arthur Laing Bridge and then Hwy 99. Follow signs for Hwy 99

South, and then the airport.

Public Transport

Public transport rail:

Rail: The Cana da Line rapid transit rail link (tel: (604) 95 3 3333; www.translink.bc.ca) offers freque nt services

between the airport and downtown Vancouver; journey time is 26 minutes.

Public transport road:

Bus: Late at nigh t, the N10 night bus takes over from the Canada Line services. Bus schedul es are ava ilable

from Customer Service Cou nters and Visitor Information Centres in Arrivals.

Taxi: More than 400 licensed taxis are available from outside the Domestic and International terminals daily

24 hours.

Terminal facilities

Money:

Royal Bank of Canada has a branch in the Domestic Terminal. ATMs and bureaux de change are located in

both the International and Domestic terminals. The International Currency Exchange (tel: (604) 656 1704)

office on Level 3 in International Departures (pre-security) provides fax and photocopying services. Full

postal facilities and mobile phone hire are available in the Arrivals area of the Domestic Terminal (inside 7-

Eleven). Telephones and Internet access are available throughout the airport. Wireless Internet access is

also available.

Food:

Licensed bars and restaurants, fast-food outlets, snack bars and coffee shops are located throughout the

airport.

Shopping:

Most shops are located in the International and Domestic Departures areas. Duty-free shopping is available

in the International Terminal, with one outlet also available in the Domestic Departures area.

Luggage:

Left-lu ggag e facilities are avail able from CDS Bagg age Storag e (tel: (604) 303 4519), in the Arrivals area of

the Domestic and International terminals.

Other:

The Domestic Terminal also has a pharmacy, medical clinic, dental clinic and dry cleaners. There are spa

services, a 24- hour nursery and childrens play areas.

Conference and business:

The CDS Business Centre (tel: (604) 303 4500) in the Internation al Terminal offers fax and ph otocopyin g

facilities, computer workstations and Internet ports. Full meetings and co nference se rvices are offered by the

Fairmont Vancou ver Airport Hotel (tel: (60 4) 2 07 5200 ; www.fairmont.com) above the US terminal.

Disabled facilities:

The airport is fully accessible to disabled p assengers. There is a g eneral information telephone line for the

hearing impaired (tel: (604) 207 7070 ). Disabled parking an d wheelchair-accessible taxis are available. The

shuttle services between the terminals and car parks are also wheelchair-accessible.

Car parking:

Parkade is the closest car park to the terminals, offering covered parking; level P1 is for pick-up/drop-off of

passengers; levels P2 and P3 are ho urly, daily and weekly parking. Hourly or daily parking is also a vailable

at the South Terminal. The econ omy car park, next to Parkade , is also close to the terminals (minimum stay:

one day). There is also a cheaper long-term car park with a free 24-hour shuttle service to/from the terminals.

There is a 24-hour valet parking service at both the Domestic and International terminals.

Car rental:

to the terminal. Off-airport companies Discount and Enterprise can be contacted at the pick-up location near

the economy parking lot.
